Vintage Gate Fold Album

Hi friends,
Lekha here, I would be sharing with you today a gorgeous gate fold album using the gorgeous pattern paper sent in my DT kit.
Its a very vintage theme paper with prints in black, gold and whites apt for making scrapbooks or mini albums on wedding, anniversary theme.
The finished Gate Fold album measures 6"x 6"x 1.5".
For the album base I have taken chipboard pieces in following sizes:
6"x 6 "(1 pc )
6"x 3" (2 pc for the divided album cover)
6"x 1.5" (2 pc for the spine)
(Adhere all the chipboard pieces in the above sequence on cardstock , I have kept 0.5" margins on all sides of the pieces. Cut triangle notches on all folds, this would give more finished look to the inside of the album.)
(I have used the Kathy Orta King's hinge binding mechanism for the spine. Using a strong tacky tape adhere the hinge binding system to the spine of the album)

This is how it looks once the hinges are in place. I have created only 4 hinges on both sides of the spine for a total of 8 pages.
For the pages I have taken 8 white card stock pieces measuring 6"x 13" (score and fold at 6"and 12" and fold and stick the extra 1" on the other 6" end. )
The finished pages measure 6"x 6"

For closing the gate fold album covers I have used the metal lock system.
Added rhinestones to embellish the print on the album cover.

For this tag I have added the little cupid metal charm.

Have added the blank die cut card stock tags from the A1craft store.

The pattern paper pack also has three sheets of journaling tags, corners, alphabets etc perfect for embellishing the album pages. I have also created few belly bands to the pages to hold these tags.

Every page has photo mat insert.
Below is collage of all the pages in the album

The gate fold album looks like this as all the pages fold in one after another.

Hope you like the Gate fold album. Looking forward to your creations.
Do leave some love in the comments below. I would love if you share the post. :)

Vintage Shabby Chic Aluminium Kettle

Hi Friends, Hope you all have a good crafty time!!! DT Tulika on the blog today to share my creation using A1 Craft products.
I got a regular aluminium kettle with my April's DT kit and decided to alter that into a home decor product. You can use to keep plant pots on it or as a flower vase or just as a showpiece to flaunt!
I used Waxed Cotton Cord on the handle and part of a Victorian Lace and pearl on the neck area to make it more beautiful.
I am extremely happy with the outcome and hope I have inspired you to give it a try. All the products links are given below. So, here is my project to transform a plain aluminium kettle into a Shabby Chic vintage home decor piece....

Box Envelope Using Metallic Cardstocks

Hi everyone

Malaika here today with a tutorial on BOX ENVELOPE with CARD AND MONEY INSERT POCKET.

Whenever I have to gift in cash I keep looking out for envelopes so thought of creating this envelope which has a card inside with wishes...

So to begin with I  have used metallic papers here..

I have taken pearl grey size 11 1/4"*11 1/4"

Using We are memory keepers envelope maker scored first at 5 5/8.

Since this is box envelope I need a second score line parallel to the first one so left a gap of and scored 1/4 the second line outward to the first line on Martha Stewart scoring board....

Note: you can create this second scoring on the envelope board itself but since I was looking for a narrow gap I prefer to do it on the Martha score board separately.

Next i have used rose garden paper pad and cut 4  triangles 5" on either sides as seen in below pic..

after cutting these 4 sides I also get a square which is adhered to the center of the metallic envelope box

Have used double sided tape n stuck these pattern paper on metallic card stock.

Then cut pearl white metallic cardstock size 8"*5" and scored on either 5" sides and on one 8" at 3/8 thus  made a pocket for money wrap.
Used this same paper and have made a card....
Both the card are stuck in the center of the metallic envelope.

Then as seen in image have adhered the ribbon on either side of the envelope.

Decorated the inner card n the envelope as seen in picture.

Hope you like my work. Do show some love with your comments below.
